Retired Railroad Man D. E. Low Dies at 81 in Whitewright
D. E. Low, 81, a longtime railroad man and former agent at several M K T stations, died suddenly of a heart attack at 9 30 a m Tuesday in the Sanderson barber shop. He moved to Whitewright in 1921 and retired about four years ago after more than fifty years in railroading, starting as a telegraph operator in Indiana. He had lived in Texas since 1905 and served as agent at Pottsboro Celeste Nocona Hillsboro Itasca Belis and Bonham. He was born February 2 1861 in Elizabeth Indiana son of James Addison Low and wife Lina Mae Griffin. He was married in 1886 to Lina Mae Griffin of Albia Iowa. she died in 1914 at Bells. He was a Mason and a Royal Arch member and attended church in Tabor Iowa. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church with Rev. W W Adcock and Rev. E P Wootten assisting. Burial was at Restland Memorial Cemetery between Dallas and Richardson. He is survived by two sons John A Low Fort Worth and D E Low Jr Orange. three daughters Mrs D M Roddy Denison Miss Frances Low Houston and Mrs H A Manzer Garland. six grandchildren and one great granddaughter and a sister Mrs I E Heland of English Indiana.

Wade Robbins longtime farmer dies in town
Wade Robbins 68 died at his home Sunday after a week of illness. Funeral services were held Monday at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Adcock Elder Overby and Rev. M. II officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. He moved to town recently from his Orangeville area. Survived by his wife and a nephew Curtis Robbins. four children died in infancy.

Welfare Department To Eliminate Intake and Certification
Austin reports the State Department of Public Welfare will end its intake and certification program on March 1 after a wartime shift reduces need.
