District Governor To Visit Whitewright Rotary Club Friday
Hubert T. Johnson of Waco district 128 Rotary International will visit the Whitewright Rotary Club at the regular luncheon Friday. Johnson is superintendent of the Methodist Orphans Home in Waco. A banquet at the Methodist Church next Tuesday, honoring Gus W. Thomasson, replaces the regular meeting. About 60 banquet tickets had been sold, with an expected attendance around 140 including about 30 out-of-town guests. Methodist women will serve dinner. tickets cost 75 cents.

Child bride mother celebrates golden wedding in Drumondville
Mrs Daniel Lamothe, 62, known as Canada’s champion mother, marks 50 years of marriage. She bore 28 children and adopted eight, with five of her own and seven adoptive children alive. Married at 12, she says she loved children though life was hard. She adopted the eight to save them from homelessness and neglect.

Rites Held For Mrs. J. L. Truett Longtime Resident
Funeral services for Mrs. J L Truett longtime Whitewright resident who died January 13 were held at the First Baptist Church with Rev W J Epting and L O Evans officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs Truett born Nancy Cordelia Cochran in 1861 Tennessee married Rev J L Truett in 1880. She lived in Texas since 1891, supported church work and the Woman's Missionary Society, and survived by her husband and five children. Out-of-town relatives and many friends attended from Dallas Fort Worth Lubbock and other areas.
