Doctors from Mayo Clinic Mayo Brothers Clinic Rochester Minnesota and American Medical Association advised and observed as the girl gradually improved with longer intervals between sneezes and returned appetite. Officials suspected irritation of the sympathetic nervous system as a possible cause.

Funeral for pioneer settler Lon H Darwin held Monday
Funeral services for Lon H Darwin nearly 96, longtime Whitewright resident, were held Monday at Kentuckytown Baptist Church. Burial followed at Wittitee Cemetery. Darwin, Confederate veteran born February 11, 1837 in Tennessee, lived a long life on the Whitewright area with wife Lizzie and children Lonnie, Percy, Sallie, and Looney.

John R. Harper of the three miles northeast of town died Wednesday evening after years of poor health. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2 PM at the Church of Christ, with Rev. C. C. Merritt and Rev. J. D. Fleming officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Born January 8, 1850 in North Carolina, he moved to Texas in 1879 and built a substantial farm. He is survived by two sons and five grandchildren. his wife died in 1896.

J. L. Cantrell traveled to Lelia Lake Monday to attend the funeral of his brother Thomas Marion Cantrell who died suddenly Sunday night. Born August 23 1867 in McMinn County Tennessee he moved to Texas in 1890 and lived in Van Alstyne Cannon and Lelia Lake. He was the youngest of three brothers with John H. Cantrell and J. L. Cantrell as the surviving sibling.
