At Central Christian Church last Sunday both morning and evening crowds blessed by sermons on The Divine Conception of the People of God and So then He hath mercy on whom He will. Next Sunday services are at 11 a m and 7 p m with a sermon on Making Our Calling and Election Sure. The Ladies Aid Society, a zealous band of workers, plans a Valentine night social tea on February 14. The minister H G Fleming commends the women helpers and asks for God’s blessing on their labors.

City Cuts Sanitary License Fees After Meeting
About twenty residents attended the city council open meeting Monday night to protest the new sanitary license ordinance raising scavenger charges. Councils reduced the resident fee to twenty five cents a month payable three months in advance with no yearly discount. The city noted scavenger funds never covered sanitary work and last year spent over 3200 on disinfectants while providing regular rubbish hauling.
Death at Waco: Mrs Hattie Rogers McConnell dies of tuberculosis
Mrs Hattie Rogers McConnell formerly Miss Hattie Rogers died at her home in Waco at 3 30 PM on the 12th from tuberculosis. Her body was shipped to Whitewright then interred at Pilot Grove cemetery. Rev Bridges conducted graveside services. She was a niece of Miss Sue Stephens, who supervised her education, and the local school honored her memory with a recess dismissal and flowers.
