W. R. Hooper, injured Christmas day in Gainesville en route to Vernon, returned home last week. His car skidded on a slippery street, throwing him and breaking his shoulder. Fire at Cull Reeves Plant Causes $75 Loss
A fire at Cull Reeves cleaning and pressing plant started in a drying tumbler after a fireworks device exploded. The device, used on holidays, was found in a coat pocket being cleaned, causing the clothes to burn and be soaked with gasoline. The owner compensated customers but reported strain on finances after the holidays.

Kimbell Elevator Damaged by Fire
Fire Saturday morning damaged the new Kimbell elevator building its machinery and contents valued at about 2600 dollars. The blaze began in a man ner near the corn shelter and climbed the shaft top before discovery. The plant had operated only four days and repairs are underway with insurance adjusters settling the loss.
