Rain and mud halted the Whitewright District Interscholastic League Meet. Nine schools attended the weather affected events with plans to resume next Saturday March 1 for basketball track and field contests. Mary Lee Andrews of Whitewright won sub junior spelling and Frances Delfel followed.

Sherman reports county agricultural agent C. C. Morris says Grayson County soil is in prime condition and spring weather should boost crop prospects. Wheat and other grains are in good shape. oats plantings are 80 to 90 percent of 1923 levels. Cotton acreage may rise about 12 percent from 160,000 acres, with total cotton area up around 15,000 acres.

Parents Day draws hundreds to Whitewright schools
Last Friday marked Parents Day in Whitewright as Washing ton’s Birthday holiday permitted a half day of school. Automobile racer sets new speed records at Beverly Hills
Harlan Fengler, hailed as a boy wonder, claimed five world records during the 250 mile Beverly Hills race.
