The Critics Criticised By Joe Sappington
Joe Sappington recalls a lifelong aversion to criticism and how it shaped his ambitions. He cites childhood ridicule, notes how criticism chilled goals like becoming a fiddler or a lawyer, and reflects on learning empathy from critics. He shares anecdotes of praising a four year old artist and choosing encouragement over harsh judgment in creative pursuits.
