Posse Finds Body of Missing Farmer in Dickens County
Lubbock reports B E Morgan a 45 year old Dickens County farmer beaten robbed and shot three times his body found in a canyon by a posse and twenty five citizens twenty miles west of Spur. A suspected assailant held in Spur with another detained at Crosbyton and mob safety measures in place. Morgan left a neighbor's farm Monday night with two cotton pickers and was last seen alive conferring on work. He is survived by a wife and several children. Morgan had farmed Dickens County for ten to fifteen years.

15 Year Prison Term For 14 Cents Robbery In Dallas

Okmulgee Oklahoma February 14 193? The third man to die at the hands of Sheriff John Russell in a year is Ike Skeet Akins slated for burial. Akins was being returned from Lamar Missouri to face charges tied to George Fee's death. Officials say Akins tried to escape the automobile during transport and two shots to the head and one to the chest ended his flight. Earlier a jail break led to three inmates escaping from the Okmulgee jail. Russell had killed Ben Snakey and another white man last summer, a case later exonerated by a coroner and District Court.

R L Autrey, 58, died Tuesday morning at 11 at his home 222 North Cleveland Sherman after a six week illness. He is survived by wife Maggie and two daughters Mrs Frank Reid Laura Autrey and son Edward Autrey and brother J P Autrey of Whitesboro. Born in Georgia he moved to Pilot Point then Sherman eight years ago where he worked as a blacksmith. New Car Stolen From Van Alstyne Show Room
A 1927 model Chevrolet coach was stolen from Yoder Auto Company in Van Alstyne after thieves entered by a broken rear door and gained access via a door between the shop and showroom. The car had no license plates, and several accessories were taken. The loss was discovered Tuesday morning.
Pardon Test Case Proceedings Began in San Antonio
In San Antonio on February 16, Herman J. Schutz was released on his own recognizance as district attorney C. M. Chambers pursues a pardon test case to assess gubernatorial power.
