Night officer Hassler thwarted a burglary at Katy Railroad station around four in the morning. He surprised three robbers near the ticket office where the safe sat on a hand truck. They fled. tools and a small cash hold suggested intent to move and crack the safe.

Sherman reports $1,839.06 from Christmas seal sales, $173.09 below last year as follow-up mail replies are urged. The sale funds the 1951 52 budget of $3,500 and an agreement to hire nurse Mrs. George Acton for three months to visit tubercular patients and suspects. Acton will review old cases and new ones found in school testing and the chest X ray survey which closed in Sherman.
