Mrs. F. R. McFatridge is appointed census enumerator for Whitewright and will begin enumeration January 2. Ten applicants took the exam. some have been offered nearby districts but may not accept. Lester Haile is assigned to Tom Bean but cannot leave home to assist. The law requires truthful answers to every question and cooperation for a complete and accurate census within the city.

Dramatic Club Repeats Show For Big Audiences
The High School Dramatic Club repeated The Deacon Entangled with success at the school auditorium last Friday night. Return date was well advertised and drew a large attendance as the new stage scenery aided a well rendered comedy enjoyed by all. They plan more plays during Christmas week and have completed payment for the new stage equipment and are purchasing a piano for the school.

Mrs. Martha E. Jordan Laid To Rest In Whitewright
The 67 year old Mrs. Martha E. Jordan died at her daughter Mrs. W Ashley’s home in McKinney after a long illness. A longtime Whitewright resident she moved from Illinois with husband Mr. J R Jordan and helped raise children and boarders with motherly care. She joined the Presbyterian Church and lived a devout Christian life, leaving memories of kindness and service to neighbors, friends and family. Sympathy pours in from many and prayers go to those she left behind.

Gin Fire Hazards Greatly Reduced This Season
The Farmers Union Gin reports no fire alarms this ginning season after last year saw fires in gins and lint carriers. A Government investigation found static electricity from handling dry cotton as the cause and a Government electrician wired the gins to control the electricity, reducing fire risk at the gin and similar facilities.

Cotton Belt Station to Reopen on 22nd of This Month
Announcement states the Cotton Belt station will reopen on the 22nd and all company business will be conducted from its depot thereafter. The Sun has not learned who will oversee the Cotton Belt depot after its resumed use. Since September 1918, the Cotton Belt depot was closed by the Federal Director of Railroads and trains have operated to the Katy station handling passenger, freight, and express traffic.
