Order Numbers Confuse Registrants
J Watt Page, state selective service director, says local boards must post National Master List first 2 843 registrants. Because 9 000 numbers were drawn nationally, boards with 2 843 registrants strike out higher numbers. A registrant numbered 2 543 is 199th on the master list but becomes 22 on a small board. Larger boards supply more men, so calls may align across boards to insure fair apportionment.
