The Tigers finish the season with two football games, at Honey Grove tomorrow at 2 30 and at Howe on December 11 for the county class B C championship. Honey Grove is a solid rival capable of a strong defensive fight, while Howe is viewed as a likely easy win for the Tigers. The Honey Grove coach reportedly uses the White Wright game to warm up next year’s players, but the writers expect the Tigers to overwhelm them decisively.
Whitewright dominated Van Alstyne with 466 rushing yards to 164 for the visitors and 22 first downs to 12. Kaiser Starr Holmes Lewis Lee Montgomery Meador and Smith starred for Whitewright while Allen Blythe and Rudd led Van Alstyne’s offense despite a 11 of 30 passing for 121 yards. Referee Fortner. Bluehearty and Richardson were umpires and lines were called in Austin.

Two pink bollworms were found in a Coahoma gin ten miles east of here according to Assistant County Agent M Weaver. The county remains under quarantine after the discovery and local high school basketball notes follow, including lineups for the Tiger squad and a game against Curlee Cummings Bells next Wednesday at the W H S gym.

Sherman reports county officials urge teachers in Grayson County to submit names of all crippled children under 21 for free examination at a health clinic on December 18. The clinic, sponsored by Rotary Clubs and State funded, will be held at the Methodist Church. treatment for eligible poor families.
Cyrus Kearns of Chillicothe lost his right hand in an industrial accident last March yet saved his life Wednesday when his midget sedan skidded off the road and overturned. The doors jammed shut as flames curled around the car, but he used a heavy iron hook that replaced his amputated hand to smash a hole in the roof and crawl free.
AUSTIN. Governor Allred has made eight appointments subject to Senate confirmation, with more expected before February ends. Rumored picks include a successor to D. K. Martin on the highway commission and a trio to the health board, with Dr. George W. Cox named as a probable health officer candidate.

The Sun ends its bargain days and notes a record November in subscriptions totaling near the historic high, with January 1927 the only stronger month. Acknowledging subscribers, the paper promises continued effort and lists new paying members and firms adding to The Sun’s honor roll.
Total rainfall in Whitewright for November was 1.12 inches with rain on seven days. November 2 had the heaviest at 0.39 inches, while November 29 was the lightest at 0.05 inches. This was 2.22 inches below the 1935 November total of 3.34. The area normal is 2.18 inches. October rainfall was 4.09 inches, 1.47 above the normal 3.56, yielding a two month deficiency of 0.53. Year to date through Nov 30 is 22.41 inches, down from 44.00 a year ago and 35.37 normal. December opened with drizzle totaling 0.45 by 8 am and continued through the day.
A one month round robin tournament opens January 5 with six Class A schools Whitesboro Whitewright Howe Denison Bells and Van Alstyne. Each team will play six games with the winner advancing to the county championship tournament.
The Methodist Church board of stewards elected officers for the new conference year at the parsonage meeting. H. P. Donigan was reelected chairman, F. M. Echols vice chairman, and R. A. Gillett secretary. Roby Childress joined the Christian Board of Education. a finance committee trio was named. Rev. J. M. Connally and the board discussed plans for the year as refreshments were served.
Postmaster T. J. Lilley distributed Social Security Act Form SS-5 to all employers served by the Whitewright post office. Employers must give one to each employee, who then submits it to the Postmaster for forwarding to Washington for an account number. Deadline is December 5. The act covers most employees, with certain exceptions including railroad workers and private household domestic staff. Employees without Form SS-5 can obtain one from the Postmaster.
The Agriculture Department found no basis for Crawford Texas complaints that low turkey prices were due to packer price fixing. J H Ruff reported no evidence of a price fixing agreement while noting the U S turkey crop is larger this year with about 20 million birds versus 15 million last year.
The House of Lords rejected a bill to permit doctors to end life of patients with incurable pain. Lord Dawson of Penn and the Archbishop of Canterbury led opposition. vote 35 to 14. Sponsor Baron Ponsonby forecast a revived measure to allow euthanasia.
Bells officially accepted its new domestic water service and fire fighting system built with the Public Works Administration. Water is pumped from a deep well into an elevated tank and distributed through mains. About ninety customers signed up, with A. F. Nossaman of Whitewright representing Bells in negotiations and construction. The Sun printed water receipts and notices this week.
In Kingston North Carolina Amos Hawkins waded when a mouse in his overalls provoked him to jump into the river as temperatures hovered near 30 degrees. He first tried slapping off the creature but it crawled across his body and he leapt into the cold water. The icy plunge proved effective.
