Farmers Back NFO Proposal To Up Prices

DES MOINES IOWA About 20 000 people packed Veterans Memorial Auditorium to back the National Farmers Organization plan to hold farm products from markets to raise prices. They approved a hogs cattle sheep and grain withholding action set to begin at midnight Friday to push processors into contracts with farmers. no contracts had yet been signed.

Certificates Awarded For Creative Selling Training

Vernon Beckham, state representative-elect, presented 22 certificates to graduates of the Whitewright Chamber of Commerce sales training course in Creative Selling Techniques. Death of Clifford Jarvis Prompts Funeral Services

Clifford Wilson Jarvis 36 of Ector died in a noon head on crash west of Bonham. He worked at General Cable in Bonham and left for lunch shortly before. Funeral Friday at Barnhart Chapel at 2:30 p m with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Survived by wife Audry, his parents, a daughter, a brother, and four sisters. Doctor McDaniel Dies After Illness in Quanah

Dr. R. R. McDaniel, son-in-law of Mrs. F. M. Echols of Denton and husband of Cora Lee Echols, died after a two week illness in Quanah. He was founder and chief surgeon of Quanah Memorial Hospital and practiced medicine there since World War I after serving in the British Medical Corps. Funeral services were held in Quanah with burial in Fort Worth.

Open house for the new 46 room Whitewright Nursing Home is scheduled Sunday September 9 from 1 to 6 p m. The facility will open for business September 10 under Ed die Ray Anderson whose wife works at the Whitewright Medical and Surgical Clinic. Dr Paul E Geers owner says two car loads of furniture are en route between here and New York and should arrive in time for the open house. Geers, who came to Whitewright from a El Paso hospital in 1955, built the clinic on West Main Street three years later. The 178000 dollar project features year round air conditioning and aims to care for 80 patients both ambulatory and bedridden. Built by North Texas Construction Co of Sherman with air conditioning by Lone Star Gas Co.
