Mantua Texas Ghost Town of Collin County
Mantua a once flourishing Collin County town near present Anna grew around the Mantua Seminary founded by McKinney Throckmorton Wilcox. The town declined after 1872 with Van Alstyne's rise, and by 1921 Mantua was abandoned, leaving only memories and a lone old well behind the church.
