Hospitals total 121 000 beds with new facilities, while Army beds exceed 500 000. The act ensures protection of servicemen rights and permits VA staff in military hospitals to assist with claims. A future World War II bonus is safeguarded by deducting GI Bill benefits from adjusted compensation or using them to pay loans.
