Two Voting Places Here Saturday in Whitewright
Whitewright voters will use two polling locations Saturday for Democratic and Republican primaries. Democrats vote at the Firemen's Hall with precinct convention at city hall at 2 pm. Baptist Junior Choir to Attend Dallas Music Festival
The Junior Choir of First Baptist Church Dallas will join about 1,500 youths from North Texas for a Junior Choir Clinic Festival at Cliff Temple Baptist Church on Saturday May 2. The Whitewright Independent School District seeks voter support for a bond and tax plan to build a new high school on a new site. Deaths Aldridge brother held funeral in Van Alstyne
Funeral services for Joe Reid Aldridge were held in Van Alstyne on Wednesday. He was born August 2, 1898 in Trenton, a World War II veteran and Baptist. Survived by four brothers J. D. and Buster Aldridge of Van Alstyne Ben Aldridge of Trenton Curless Aldridge of Whitewright and two sisters Toledo Turner of Lubbock Ada Jenkins of Pilot Grove. Burial followed at Burns Cemetery in Trenton.

The Whitewright Independent School District calls an election for May 9 to issue $275,000 in bonds with a tax increase from 1.35 to 1.85 per hundred dollars. Proceeds fund a new senior high and gym with nine teaching areas, library, labs, and offices on 20 acres west of the American Legion Park.

Postal operations in Washington and other cities will shift to five days a week starting May 4 under Postmaster General John Gronouski plan to save 12.7 million dollars.
