Canaan was visited by hundreds of people Sunday to view storm damage from Wednesday morning. About two thousand automobiles traveled the Bells to Whitewright road Sunday, making driving nearly impossible at times. A Bells to Whitewright trip counted 146 northbound vehicles. the drive lasted about thirty five minutes, showing the day’s heavy traffic.

A former conductor in St Louis Missouri admitted stealing funds over a year and returned 1100 the company says is one of its largest conscience fund gifts. He sent 100 by mail from Iowa and then included a 1000 note, saying the total amount was stolen five cents at a time.

Jail Full of Prisoners in Sherman County
Sherman April 13 The Gray son county jail houses 18 prisoners indicted for felonies in the past week based on sheriff's evidence. An additional 44 men released on bonds were also indicted by the recent grand jury, bringing the three month total under arrest to 62 with multiple counts for many.

Jennings Killed by Automobile in Sherman
Sherman Texas April 11 Thomas B Jennings shop foreman for the Texas Electric Railway died at St Vincent's Sanitarium from a fractured skull and other injuries after being struck by an automobile shortly after 11 o'clock last night while oiling the track in front of the car barns on East Lamar street. The car dragged him about fifty feet before the three young men who were riding in it stopped and took him to the sanitarium. The accident is described as purely accidental.

A 12 year old farm boy, J M Willis, bought a sow in May 1917 for a note from sixty five boys at 6 percent. The sow produced pigs worth over 500 dollars. Willis now values her at 100 dollars. He sold pigs from January, October, and October litters at prices ranging from 5 to 19.90 dollars per head and per hundred pounds. He retains the sow’s son at 100 dollars.

Body of Edith Cavell to be buried in Britain
London, April 10. Arrangements are under way for the removal of Edith Cavell, the English nurse executed by Germans at Brussels in 1915. Her body will be reinterred in English soil with a grand public ceremony planned to mark the occasion.
