Early Indians in Texas Show Health Defects
Dr Marcus S Goldstein of the U S Public Health Service reported at a Philadelphia meeting that three of ten adult skulls and four of ten adult skeletons show diseased conditions or injuries. Children though died early had relatively healthier bones and skull porosity was most common in children.

Whitewright youths die in train crash at Van Alstyne
Two Whitewright youths Prentice Barnett and Cleve Anderson Jr. were killed and three others injured when their car struck a freight train at a Van Alstyne crossing. Barnett and Anderson were buried after funeral services. Hyepock McKnight and Partridge were hospitalized with serious injuries but expected to recover.

Burial for Oscar Burkhalter in Sherman
Funeral services were held at Earnhart Chapel for Oscar Burkhalter 49 who died Friday in Denison from a heart attack while working on a construction job. Burial is in Oak Hill Cemetery. Survived by wife Frances Ford, a daughter Norma Jean Shotts of Dallas, son Airman Eddie Ray Burkhalter at Duff Field, two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.
