M Zack Jones 82 died last Thursday in a Sherman rest home and funeral services were held Friday at Earnheart chapel. Born February 22 1882 in Mansfield Missouri he was a retired farmer and Baptist church member. Survivors include two sons a daughter three brothers two sisters and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
George Walter Rayon 83 died Wednesday at Mullican rest home Savoy. Born Whitesboro April 3 1881 to James and Sarah Rayon. Retired farmer and Pentecostal Church member. Survived by Lola Brown wife three brothers Homer Luther Nick and sisters Mrs. Tom Roaster and Mrs. Cora Ford plus several nieces and nephews. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral conducted by Rev. Houston Garner and Rev. R L Cates.
Dick Walker and Wallace Wilson were re-elected to the Whitewright Independent School District Board of Education after last Saturday's vote. Bryant, the challenger, received 107 votes while Walker and Wilson tallied 203 and 197 respectively. Total votes cast were 256 with W. L. Ashburn winning 246 for county school trustee.
In Green England 19-year-old Len Smith lost his world marbles crown to his 46-year-old father Alan Smith in a swift one sided final. Len won the coin toss to shoot first and finished with seven hits of 13 and one break to claim the title.

President Johnson stepped in to avert a nationwide walkout by over 200000 railroad workers on nearly 200 lines after a surprise strike by four unions. Secretary Wirtz was urged to summon negotiators as unions and management prepared to impose disputed work rules nationwide, with the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers warning of a national lockout if rules are enforced.
Washington Commerce Department accuses Peak Products Company of buying U S tractors and re exporting them to Cuba. An export privileges ban is set on Peak and director L Kanner of London pending further investigation. The bureau cites substantial evidence of violations of export control law.
