During a Friday storm near town J. E. Turner’s mules were struck by lightning. A young driver left a four mule team in a field to seek shelter and returned to find three mules dead. The loss weighs heavily on Turner as he was in need of stock.

Sherman Texas March 29 Miss Mary Cleveland 19 daughter of Mr and Mrs W H Cleveland ten miles NW died at 445 this morning from an accidental wound received about 4 pm Thursday when a 32 caliber Winchester rifle knocked down by her 15 year old brother Henry discharged The bullet struck behind the right shoulder and lodged near the heart The boy did not know the rifle was loaded He is prostrated over the accident The young lady belonged to a prominent Northwest Grayson county family and the death casts gloom over the community The boy and family receive sympathy
About 30,000 bushels of wheat are in the hands of German farmers between Tioga and Gunter, with portions in Grayson and Denton counties. Some are selling while others wait.
