A large fire engulfed frame buildings at Union and Thirty-second streets in Bellaire, causing about 12000 dollars in losses. Firemen from Volunteer Second Ward battled the blaze as flames spread, damaging nearby shops, homes, and a piano, with several residents narrowly escaping. Authorities cite possible origins in a stable basement or paint shop, with insurance covering most losses except Love and Torman who suffered total losses.
