Reservoir Celebration Marks Water Works Upgrade
Large crowd witnessed the test of the Worthington pump as water flowed into Wheeling’s new reservoir atop the hill. The two pumps will supply about seven million gallons daily, with the new triangular reservoir holding around 2.9 million gallons and improving city pressure and storage. Officials, contractor M. T. Carr, and Engineer John W. Cumming oversaw the event, noting cost around $40,000 and future capacity for growth.
