City Collector projects unusually large tax receipts next week as big taxpayers settle bills. Finance and Gas boards weigh cash needs and the building ordinance, with anticipated transfers to Health and possible cuts from the Street Bridge balance to cover year expenses.
In the Sistersville field on both sides of the Ohio border several wells are reported. Dye farms Deist pool yields about 200 barrels daily. Henderson Co on Bickelberry farm about eight to fifteen barrels hourly. Keener pool on Middle Island Creek reports Oxford Oil Co No 2 up to 15 bbls per hour. A and J McKay No 4 at 15 bbls an hour. Calabaugh well near Henry Ot Dye shows attention but was marred by a lost bit. Overall field production around 700 barrels daily from shallow wells and Berea Grit, with not yet any dry holes.
