Dispatches note stronger effects from yesterday’s quake in Summerville with many chimneys toppled and geysers active near Ashley River. Water spouts and sand colored deposits accompanied the shock, while Mobile Bay area small shocks were also reported.
The St Louis Browns defeated the Chicago White Sox 4 to 3 in a dramatic sixth game to seize the series lead. Clarkson and Caruthers pitched well as St Louis finally broke through with Comisky scoring on Welch’s miscue and Latham driving in the decisive runs. The scene ended with wild field celebrations as the Browns secured the championship lead.
The voyage began from Queenstown with fair weather but a violent storm within hours. Captain Grace stayed on the bridge for 42 hours as waves washed over, life boats filled with water, and crews battled panic and fires. A stoker went mad and was ironed, a passenger attacked stewards, a cook was injured, and two men died during and after the storm.

General Kaulbars the Russian envoy returned to the area and demanded postponement of the Bulgarian Sobranje meeting. The Bulgarian Government refused and officials left for Tirnova for the Sobranje sessions starting next Wednesday.
