Judge James Morrow Jr died at his home in Fairmont, West Virginia, at about 6 30 pm after a period of illness. He was about 50 years old, born in Hancock County, Virginia, now West Virginia. He practiced law from an early age, moved to Fairmont, admitted to the bar in 1867, and held several important county and state posts. In 1851 he ran five Liberal newspaper issues and was noted as a forceful journalist. He was to be buried in Washington, D. C., after an interment, marking a loss to the state and nation.
