Developments in the Gladstone murder case reveal Annie Bree gave birth October 25 to Schroeder not fathering the child. He vowed to kill mother and infant. the infant died last Sunday and the mother was shot dead last night. Marshal Stroup confronted him. Schroeder shot himself behind the car and died.
Pittsburg Pa November 7. Steve Farrell of Massachusetts defeated George Smith of Pittsburg by ten yards in a 300 yard foot race. Time was thirty four seconds. Smith's backers claimed the race was sold and Buck Cornelius was restrained from shooting him. The event caused near riot as betting favored Farrell two to one.
