A marriage plan in Honolulu links Helen Aw Fong to William A. Honshall a prominent lawyer formerly of this city. The bride to be is a sister of Captaine Whiting and is described as strikingly beautiful, following a prior marriage of her sister to Captain Whiting of the U S Navy which drew naval attention two years ago.

Last evening near dusk an unknown man about 240 pounds waded into the river at Shady Side two miles below Bellaire and deliberately drowned himself. He was seen entering the water and his body was recovered. He wore a single brick of clothing, contained six venta in money and a watch, and a ring on a finger. No clues to his identity were found.

The funeral of the late George 8 Sterling was held yesterday afternoon from Mrs. Wilson’s residence on the Island. Revs Sooy and Cunningham conducted the services, which were impressive, and the interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
