United Order of Loyal Friends expands with new lodge
Prominent local leaders helped establish a Lodge of the United Order of Loyal Friends on Pale grounds near Caters. Officers were installed including Past Councillor W. G. Howard and Councilor James M. Callaway as the order rapidly grows with 30 members in the city and about 600 statewide. A Grand Lodge is planned for next month. The Bellaire Independent critiques county commissioners for gifting the West Wheeling railroad to the Electric Railway Company, arguing it harms public interests.
