In Cannon, Missouri, a tramp forced entry to farmer John Perreton’s home and raped Mrs. Perreton. A posse hunted the suspect, who was arrested in Welland and brought to jail after confessing. Mob violence and a later attempted jail lynching followed as Mrs. Perreton remained in critical condition.
In Barm City on March 15 the defense depositions in the Williams divorce continued with testimony about the intimacy of William and Miss Boyd. Depositions from waiters dressmakers and attendants were read as they traveled dined and attended the opera together. Miss Boyd is not expected to appear until rebuttal. Mrs Williams is ill in Iowa.
A warrant was issued for Dr. William Paine owner of the Peabody Hotel in Pintanerrata Pennsylvania on the charge of employing Charles Wing a Chinese leper to prepare food for guests and staff. Paine was arrested and waived arraignment posting bail of 2100 for his court appearance.
Miss Annie Belie Medley J A Medley and Felix Hill drowned today while crossing the Kanawha River near Peereas about twenty miles above Cuannestox West Virginia. The tragedy occurred during a river crossing on a calm day with no other details available.
The Republican primary elections were held yesterday afternoon for Hineville Bridgeport and Kirkwood precincts from four to seven with notable interest.
