The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad announces summer excursions to Atlantic City from Pittsburgh Wheeling Parkersburg and intermediate points with return tickets valid twelve days from sale. Trains depart Wheeling at 5:00 am and 5:25 pm and round trip fares are $20 with stops allowed on return to visit Washington and nearby attractions. Widespread improvements at Atlantic City boost its appeal as a premier Atlantic Coast resort.
The Connellsville coke region faces weeks of slow output as switch to new labor by carriers and displaced workers delays furnaces in Pittsburgh Wheeling. Only about 5,000 of 17,000 ovens active. Also referenced are summer corsets, hosiery, water route rates, and excursion tickets for the Baltimore and Ohio R R for July 4 and 4th, with discounts and routes east of the Ohio river.
