That French Baby Saves a French Chateaus Master
During the German occupation of Metz Lorraine, Madame Forrestier shelters her wounded husband Andre Forrestier and six Prussian soldiers in the chateau. A trapdoor beneath the mistress’s room conceals their infant son, saved when the occupiers search the manor. The English nurse Annie aids, while old Jacques chews over loyalty and survival. Eventually the baby’s presence helps reveal the master’s hiding place, allowing reunion.
