A LaPorte Fair preview touts a superior speed program with a rebuilt track and big purses. Over 150 fast horses expected by August 22 as top owners promise a premier three day speed event with strong entries and a new clay surface.
The Association and Board of Police Commissioners will station a strong uniformed force under Chief Anstiss to guard the grounds day and night. A capable plain clothes detective will spot crooks and pickpockets at the event drawing vast crowds. The officers have absolute control to prevent any disorder during the fair.
The Pere Marquette has arranged train service for LaCrosse and other line points to attend full fair sessions and return at a seasonable hour. Visitors may return on the 6:30 PM LaPorte train on August 29 to 31 inclusive.
