Mrs. George Cummings remains seriously ill. Multiple social visits across Laporte, Wanatah, and Valparaiso are reported, including Thanksgiving travel plans and hospital recoveries. Local events feature E S O E S chapter plans, a chicken supper, and PTA meeting with strong attendance and luncheon.
Robbers entered the Otis shop of Louis Kniola on Wednesday night last week and stole cash and goods totaling about $250. Officers are investigating the burglary.
W. H. Beecher of Laporte drove a truck into a school wagon driven by B. F. Henton as it returned home empty last evening at 7:00 o'clock. The collision occurred about a mile east of town and left the wagon badly wrecked between the front and rear wheels. No injuries are reported.
Alfred H. Kimble, county auditor, died at his Laporte home Wednesday afternoon after becoming seriously ill the previous day. He had served two years and faced rising duties from valuation and tax rate changes. Funeral services will be led by La Porte Lodge of Masons, with Westville Lodge 192 in attendance.
