Friday two dogs destroyed a fine flock belonging to John Herrold, south west of town on his marsh land. Five sheep were killed outright and many more injured. two sheep weighed 250 pounds. Dr. Hartman found the scene and attempted to intervene but could not save the herd. Attempts to identify the dogs failed as two nearly matched the description but were not confirmed. The injured animals faced possible loss of value.
