The Laporte County Woman's Christian Temperance Union met March 7 7 at the Congregational church in Michigan City. Despite few attendees due to sickness and bad streets, Mrs Hattie Brand of Indianapolis presided and a state program proceeded with papers and discussions. A first medal contest delighted the audience with Maud Staiger winning the silver medal and plans were made to hold another event and donate proceeds to the county treasury.

Circuit court adjourned Monday afternoon until April 2 due to many docket cases not being ready for trial. Complaints claim some attorneys lack hustling qualities slowing court business.
