The tale ends with Belle and her husband reaching Ellsworth, Maine, aided by Boston and Maine passes and local generosity.
Dr. McGlynn in New York outlined the growth of land and labor clubs led by Henry George, predicting a future Union Labor party with 100,000 New York votes, aiming to tax land value and reform laws.
