Memorial hall plan and patriotic teaching drive in Indiana

Indianapolis reports outline a drive to erect a Memorial hall in the city and raise 25000 for an endowment to promote patriotism in Indiana schools and colleges. An executive committee from each patriotic society will coordinate the fund and united observances.

Elkhart Woman Tries to End Life in River

In Elkhart a local music teacher, Miss Martha Schneider, attempted to take her life by drowning in the river. Authorities reported the case as a mental aberration and the woman was rescued.

Boy Hero of Serbia Returns to New York in Uniform

Konstantine Prolich a thirteen year old hero of the Serbia war was captured by German forces during the drive and handed to Dr Harriet Cockburn of the Serbian Red Cross. She brought him to New York where a photograph was taken on arrival. He keeps his tattered uniform and claims the boots once belonged to a German soldier he killed.

Dig Up Man Bird Fossil At Billings Exhibition

A fossil claimed by some skeptics to be half man and half bird was shown at the Billings chamber of commerce. Found near Fromberg in the foothills, the specimen dates to the Mesozoic period and is about twenty one feet high, with a human shaped head and a pronounced neck.
