Tax payment rules and due dates for 1913 taxes
Taxpayers warned against dealing in orders and road receipts must be filed by Township Trustees at the County Treasurer by January 1 1914. Taxes become a lien March 1 each year. Property owners on that date are liable for that year's taxes. The treasurer is not responsible for perpetual liens until paid. Penalties apply for late payments. the 1913 Laporte County tax duplicate will be closed and returned to the Auditor with installments due on May 4 and November 2. bring your last tax receipt.
