In Scrape Skillet, Robert Dougherty died after a club blow from James Gooden in a rival suitors dispute. Gooden surrendered claiming self defense. In Evansville, George Rubright, accused of stabbing Pearl Daum, is said to have concealed a rat-tail file and faced questions about sanity. Daum was Miss Daum, daughter of George L. Daum Sr. and sibling to a Springfield Y M C A secretary and an electrician.

In Litchfield Illinois Charles Morgan a brakeman for the C P and St L was fatally injured when his foot was caught in a frog and an engine backed over him. His body was cut in two and his right arm severed in the incident reported yesterday evening.
John Parker, a colored man, was murdered in a Penn avenue poolroom on Monday by an unknown assailant who struck him with a billiard cue, crushing his skull. Parker died within minutes and the killer escaped.
