A Guthrie dispatch reports the Land Office decision ousting the so called Sooners who entered Oklahoma before noon on April 22. About two hundred men queued Monday to file on claims tied to those said not entitled to hold them. The ruling sparks widespread tension across the Territory and promises ongoing trouble.
A party of explorers on Thursday unearthed numerous skeletons in chalk bluffs ten miles east of Yankton Dakota. Fifty skulls and two hundred headless skeletons were found, with local physicians calling the remains those of white people.
The Ohio State Prohibition convention in Zanesville drew 444 delegates. Gov candidate Rev. J. B. Helwig of Springfield led on the first ballot with sermons on religious politics. Other nominations included L. B. Logan for Lieutenant Governor Gideon T. Stewart for Supreme Judge D. M. Trowbridge for Treasurer and E. Jay Pinney for Attorney General.
