The Representative Town Meeting will discuss buying about 54 acres from George May of Southport for a proposed high school on North Avenue near an Army Nike site. Controversy centers on safety and the presence of 100 soldiers, with the CPA having urged the Army to relocate. May gift 10 acres would become May Field. 15 acres may be later sold to the Army at about 1500 dollars per acre, with the town paying slightly more for the remaining 40 acres. Army officers will explain Nike operations at the meeting.
