Health District director resigns in wake of health concerns
Dr. William Spring resigned as director of the Aspetuck Valley Health District effective yesterday for health related personal reasons. The move follows two weeks after AVHD board chairman Dr. Clifford Mills quit. The First Selectman's office has not named a replacement for Mills and the board has not filled Spring's vacancy. Spring offered to stay until a successor was named but the board did not ask him to. Spring was appointed in February 1971 succeeding Dr. Anthony Donovan, district founder in 1966.
