John Grant Named Westport Postmaster in 1972
John P. Grant of Glenwood Lane was named Westport Postmaster effective December 9 1972. The appointment, announced by Harold R. Larsen New York Regional Postmaster General, succeeds Edward Butner who retired at end of August after 18 years in Westport. Grant previously served as Assistant Postmaster and joined the Postal Service in 1942 as a temporary substitute clerk. He rose to Foreman of Mails Superintendent of Mails and later Westport Assistant.
