Ranyan pleads guilty in circuit court to dangerous weapon assault
Ranyan, indicted by the grand jury on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon, changed his plea from not guilty before Judge Phelpe. He received 1x months to 10 years in the state penitentiary and 10 days to file a parole petition. Ranyan shot George Spearman at the time, injuring him. Spearman’s recovery was uncertain, but he left the hospital briefly and later rode his bucking horse.
