Liberty Loan Oversubscribed To 2 Billion Cap Declared

Secretary McAdoo announced that no part of the oversubscription would be accepted and that the issue would be limited to 2 billion dollars. The move will trim down large subscriptions to fit the 2 billion cap as the American public poured funds into the war loan, led by small investors. Subscriptions are reported to total about 2.8628 billion dollars.

War Budget Signed for 3 4 0 Billion Dollar Urgent Deficiency Bill

President Wilson signed the 3.44 billion dollar urgent deficiency measure, the largest lump appropriation in U.S. history.
