At a Weastfield Road Committee meeting the contract to round several street corners was awarded to Albert J. Starr as the lowest bidder at 1900 dollars. Corners include Library at East Broad and Elmer streets Presbyterian Church corner at Broad Street and Mountain Avenue Ross Place and the Boulevard Charles Street and North Avenues and Dudley and North Avenues. Work to begin immediately. Fire Commissioner Egan reported 800 feet of hose rendered useless by recent fires and recommended purchasing 11000 feet more at 1.40 per foot. Council decided to advertise for bids for the new hose.
