Woman's Club Hosts Folk Lore Afternoon Program
Members of the Woman's Club enjoyed an afternoon of American folk lore with papers on Negro folklore New England folklore and Indian tales. Music and dances featured Cadman songs Indian dances by Miss Jessie Richardson and Miss Francis. The gathering included readings and demonstrations with arrow points stone axes baskets and other artifacts.

The Congregational Parsonage hosted a well attended Sunday School Institute with devotions led by Dr. Loomis and talks on Sunday school work by Edna Cole and Sue Valentine. Temperance in Sunday School was discussed by Eather H ib president of N J W C T. A Community Teacher Training session followed with songs and further addresses by H R Hatloway and Rev H K Eng. The District Sunday Book Association met with officers Arleen Robinson president Walter L Bunnell secretary treasurer and Morgan Jr. as vice president.

Fire at Broad Street store linked to garbage-box blaze
A small fire broke out behind the Fire and Ten Cent Store on Broad street at 10:55 AM. Firemen arrived within half a minute, using chemical extinguishers to quell a blaze that started in a box of excelsior set out for the garbage. The fire also burned mosquito netting and damaged shed paint but caused no other damage. Woodruff's Market advertises fresh fish and special on shad for Friday and Saturday on Broad street.
