Catholics Debate Bible Access at Westfield Forum
At the Westfield First M B church a Men's Christian Forum session charged Catholics with keeping the Bible from the laity. Italian Protestants Guissipe Villa and Dominico Filiciedo claimed Catholics attend church mainly for rites and do not read the Bible, while excommunication was cited over Bible translations. The meeting explored the church as the sole interpreter of scripture and called for broader access and study of biblical texts. The discussion continues next Sunday.
