Brady to Lecture at Westfield and Church Lectures

The Rev Cyrus Townsend Brady will start lectures at St Pauls Church in Westfield next Sunday with a morning service. Westfield organizations are invited to attend Brady's lectures during his stay, with Rector and Vestry coordinating invitations.

Westfield Rifle Club meeting at Town Hall tonight

The Westfield Rifle Club will meet at the Town Hall tonight at 8 o clock. A speaker of note will discuss war relics brought home by Westfield representatives and plans for the April matches and open season. The meeting invites new members to plan ammunition requisitions.

West Orange Plans Liberty Hall Memorial Center

The War Memorial Advisory Committee of West Orange approves a civic center named Liberty Hall to honor local soldiers and sailors. The site is Condit Street north of the Town Hall area between Valley Road and Fairmount Avenue, with an estimated cost of at least $100,000. Major Everett Colby favors a Mount Pleasant and Lindsley avenues site for a future municipal building.

East Orange Eyes New Gymnasium For High School

East Orange sees a Soldier Memorial project shaping into a modern high school gymnasium. The High School Home and School Association has long proposed a shared facility for the school and the public, but no action has followed.

Woman's Club Meets With College Program

The Woman's Club holds its regular meeting Monday afternoon with a program by the College Woman's Club. Miss Mabel Sturgis chairs. Mrs. Har old Welch, Mrs. Henriette Roberts and Mrs. Frank Petina on the committee. The College Club, about forty five members from fourteen colleges, will present a history of the Club and war work reports. Duets by Miss Sturgis and Mrs. Welch close the musical segment.

Red Cross Calls for Volunteers and Magazine Members

The local Red Cross asks for volunteers to prepare materials at Prospect street headquarters to aid war displaced Europeans. It urges immediate help and notes members can join Red Cross Magazine by sending one dollar, promoting the phrase The Greatest Mother in the World.

Minstrel Show Sells Out At McKinley School Friday

The Mc Kinley School Minstrel performs its second show this Friday evening March 7 at the school. Tickets are nearly sold and a full house is expected with a postshow dance and refreshments. New features include Miss Hoffman solo and improved Agony Jazz Band.

Neighborhood Clubs Form For Brady Lectures Next Week

Westfield residents organize Neighborhood Clubs to attend Dr Cyrus Townsend Brady lectures in a full course next week. Groups of 50 will sit together. residents should RSVP to H T MacCowatt or Mudd avenue. Lectures will have no offerings and shortened services.

Memorial for High School War Veterans at Board Meeting

The Board of Education formed a special committee to plan a memorial for all high school pupils who served in the war and set report for the May meeting. The Colored Welfare League seeks May auditorium use for a fundraiser benefiting Elizabeth General and Muhlenberg Hospitals.
