Double Anniversary Celebrated In Westfield
Mrs. MOB Mapes of Prospect Street marked eighty one years and ten years since moving to Westfield with a double celebration. A luncheon at her daughter Mrs F B Ham’s home drew twelve guests from Brooklyn New York Westfield and Paterson. About fifty neighbors later surprised her at her home. Mapes, widow of S Mapes, was a Westfield pioneer active in civic work and local development.

Westfield plans a big July 4 parade and midday program with a grand marshal, uniformed units, bands, and a citizens division. The celebration includes a patrol parade route, no fireworks, and fundraising from residents to cover costs.
Peoples Bank to Be Trust Company Name Change Authorized
Directors of the Peoples National Bank meet to double capital and convert the bank to Peoples Bank and Trust Company. The move allows mortgage lending and estate trustee services with deposits near 1.315 million and resources around 1.479 million. Current officers include President Samuel Townsend and Vice Presidents J E Gallagher and E A Merrill. The name and operations shift take effect July 1.

The Flower Festival at St Pauls Parish House on Saturday features new music and dances directed by Miss Marion Denman. Home made candy cake and novelties will be sold. festival hours are 2 to 10 with a 3 PM program start and another in the evening.
